The Nebraska softball team was the victim of bad weather once again on Sunday in its final game at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga. The Huskers were scheduled to play 13th-ranked DePaul, but the game was cancelled due to inclement weather, leaving Nebraska with a 1-1 record at the tournament.
Nebraska fell to No. 22 UMass 3-0 on Friday before beginning a game with Penn State that was delayed by weather. The Huskers continued that contest on Saturday, as NU took a 5-2 victory over the Nittany Lions. Nebraska added an unscheduled Sunday game with No. 13 DePaul, but continued rains and cold temperatures forced a third cancelled game for the Huskers.
NU (7-4) returns to action next weekend, as the Huskers travel to Wichita, Kan., to play two games each against Wichita State and North Dakota.
