The Nebraska men's golf team posted a third-place finish at the Troy Invitational Sunday with a score of 935. It marks the best finish for NU in nearly two years.
Brandon Crick led the way with a ninth-place finish, his best as a Husker. The junior from McCook, Neb., shot 232.
Andrew Wyatt and Scott Willman each shot 234 and tied for 13th. That also marked a career-best finish for both golfers. Mike Coatman tied for 16th at 235, and Chris Bruening finished 44th with a 253.
Mississippi St. captured the team title with a score of 892.
The Heritage Plantation Club course played extremely tough all weekend, with 36 of the 51 golfers in the field posting final rounds of 80 or higher. Still, Nebraska had three golfers - Crick, Wyatt and Willman - all post 79s on Sunday.
The Huskers will play in Florida again next weekend at the South Florida Invitational in Dade City.
