NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops calls the offensive line a major issue that the Sooners will need to address leading up to the April 18 spring game.
All-America guard Duke Robinson, All-Big 12 tackle Phil Loadholt, all-conference center Jon Cooper and guard Brandon Walker are gone from last season's starting five, and top reserve Branndon Braxton's career is also done after his senior year.
Tackle Trent Williams is the only starter back from the line that gave up fewer sacks than all NCAA Division I teams other than run-heavy Navy and Air Force.
Among those trying to fill the gaps -- or create them for OU's running backs -- will be LSU transfer Jarvis Jones and Stephen Good, who was chosen to play in the U.S. Army All-American high-school All-Star game.
Tuewday, Stoops called out his young offensive linemen, saying their work ethic and attitude needs to improve. Stoops says they haven't had as productive a winter as other players on the team and calls them the Sooners' "weak link."
