Meads Earns Top RMAC Honor

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has honored Jade Meads of the University of Nebraska at Kearney and two of her teammates and one member of the UNK men's team.

Meads was named the league's player of the year after averaging 18.8 points and 8.4 rebounds. The senior guard from Elm Creek started 102 games before missing eight in a row in the middle of the season because of a leg injury.

Senior Jonni Mildenberger of Sterling, Colo., was named co-defensive player of the year and Debi Johnson of Elsie was freshman of the year.

UNK junior Drake Beranek of Ravenna was named to the All-RMAC men's first team.
