Northeast Football Coach to Resign

Lincoln Northeast High School varsity football coach Dave Svehla has announced his resignation effective at the end of this school year.

Svehla has been the head football coach at Northeast for seven years. He is a Northeast graduate and a former Northeast student athlete.

“Dave will be missed,” said Clayton Heath, Northeast’s athletic director. “He will be missed as a professional educator, but also hard to replace as a coach. His compassion for our Northeast athletes will be irreplaceable.”

Svehla’s wife had an opportunity for advancement in another state, Heath explained, “and he’s going to support his wife.”
