Latravis Washington came to Nebraska as a linebacker and might leave as a quarterback.

The junior from Bradenton, Fla., has moved to offense this spring in the wake of Patrick Witt's departure in the offseason and freshman Cody Green's hip injury.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Washington appeared in 10 games last season, primarily on special teams.

Washington was starting quarterback for his high school team, and he attended Nebraska's Elite Quarterback camp in 2005 and '06.

Coach Bo Pelini says Washington has a strong arm and that he's curious to see what it looks like in action.
