If its not a football in Zac Lee's right hand, its a marker. Lee sketched plays almost daily over the off-season, helping him learn Nebraska's playbook.
Lee would hear a play from offensive coordinator Shawn Watson, then he would draw it on a board. The junior quarterback says he now has a better grasp of the system. "It forced me to know the ins and outs of every play," Lee said.
Lee is the front-runner to become the Huskers' next starting quarterback. The coaching staff is seeing improvement in Lee's play this spring.
"I've made a lot of quarterbacks out of many players," Watson said, "and have had great success."
