Lincoln - The Nebraska football team welcomed nearly 800 coaches to spring practice Friday afternoon at the Hawks Championships Center. As part of the Spring Coaches Clinic, the group watched the team practice for nearly 2 ½ hours at the indoor facility. The clinic will continue later Friday evening with former Husker and current Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez addressing the group.
Friday’s practice was the sixth of 15 practices in the spring for the Huskers, with the team ending practice with a short scrimmage.
“Both the offense and the defense has their good and bad moments,” Offensive Coordinator Shawn Watson said. “Spring practice is all about getting out here and seeing what these kids can do and I think they’re responding well.”
The coaches clinic will continue Saturday with the group taking in the morning’s practice, before they meet with former Colorado State Head Coach Sonny Lubick.
Reserved tickets for the April 18 Red-White Spring Game remain available through Huskers.com or by calling the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-8-BIG-RED. Tickets are $10 each. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets no later than Friday, April 10 so that they can receive the tickets in the mail and avoid potentially long will-call lines on game day. Kickoff for the Red-White Spring game is at 1 p.m.
