Alex Gordon's rehab assignment is taking him to Omaha, not to the doctor's office. Gordon says the pain is gone 10 weeks after undergoing hip surgery.

Gordon will start for the Omaha Royals tonight as the team's designated hitter. His Nebraska homecoming is expected to draw a large crowd at Rosenblatt Stadium. Gordon joked he hoped the fans were coming out for the fireworks, not to see him.

Gordon expects to return to the Royals big league club after the all-star break.
