Alex Gordon went 1-for-3 in his debut with the Omaha Royals Friday night. Gordon drove a fastball into right-center field during the fourth inning for his first hit with the Royals' triple-A club. Gordon reached base three times on the night. He was intentionally walked twice, both times drawing rumblings from the crowd.

Gordon was welcomed by 24,000 fans, many of whom likely followed the ex-Husker during his college years. Gordon, though, bypassed Omaha in his quick route to the major leagues. Gordon was the 2006 Minor League Player of the Year after a successful season in Wichita.
