Top seeded Hastings defeated number two seed Northwestern tonight 81-70 in the Championship Game of the 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament presented by Rawlings. The game was played at Lynn Farrell Arena in Hastings, Nebraska.

The Broncos, ranked number one in the NAIA, are now 30-3 and have won nine straight games entering the NAIA Women’s Division II National Championship. Northwestern is now 26-5 on the season. Both teams have earned the GPAC’s two automatic berths to the NAIA National Championship.

The Broncos and Red Raiders join fellow league members Briar Cliff, Morningside, and Concordia in the NAIA Championship in Sioux City, Iowa. The tournament will open on Wednesday, March 10 and runs through Tuesday, March 16. The official 32 team bracket will be announced on Wednesday, March 3, on a live broadcast on www.collegefanz.com and will be released on the NAIA website at www.naia.org.
