Richie Incognito has been suspended from the Nebraska football team for repeated violations of team policy.
That word Wednesday from coach Bill Callahan.
Callahan said he does not know when, or if, Incognito will return to the team.
Callahan said, "I'm really disappointed because he's a really good player. But no one is bigger than the team."
Callahan would not discuss the nature of Incognito's violations.
Incognito has had several off-field run-ins with the law, and last month he was fined $500 after being convicted of misdemeanor assault.
Incognito could not be immediately reached for comment.
The 6'3", 300 pound junior from Glendale, Arizona, was a first team All Big 12 selection last year by the Associated Press.
A left tackle his first two years in the Nebraska program, Incognito moved to center last spring.
Kurt Mann, a sophomore from Grand Island, will start at center in Saturday's opener against Western Illinois.
