Coach Pelini Not Injured in Lincoln Crash

Police say no one was injured following a crash involving Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini Wednesday evening.

Lincoln Police investigated the accident on Old Cheney Road and S. 34th Street. Police say one of the drivers involved happened to be Nebraska Head Football Coach Bo Pelini.

According to Captain Jason Stille, Pelini was eastbound on Old Cheney about 6:00 pm when a westbound car turned south (or left) in front of Pelini. Stille said Pelini did swerve attempting to avoid the crash, but was unsuccessful.

Captain Stille said a citation was issued to the other driver for failure to yield.

Stille said, "Had this been anyone else involved in the accident, it would not be making news and no one would care. I am really glad that no one was hurt."

Damage estimates are about $2,000 for each car.
