Morningside defeated Doane in the First Round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Tournament, 69-66, as they rallied from a nine-point, second half deficit. Tanner Miller struggled from the floor, shooting 2-of-7, but was clutch at the free throw line going 8-of-10 and hitting some big free throws down the stretch.
Doane received 18 points from Nick Reed, going 7-of-10 from the floor. However, the Mustang defense was able to prevent Reed from scoring in the final 12 minutes of play. Doane made a furious rally late, trimming a 10-point lead to 2 in the final seconds, but Morningside was able to hang on and advance to the GPAC Tournament semifinals.
