Doane guard Nick Reed is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week. Reed, a junior from Syracuse, Nebraska, averaged 21 points and eight rebounds per game in a pair of Tiger wins. For the week he was 13-of-24 from the floor and made 4-of-6 three-point attempts. He also made 12-of-13 free throw attempts as 16th-ranked Doane improved to 18-3 overall and 8-3 in the GPAC.
The Tigers needed to make comebacks in both of their wins last week as they hosted Nebraska Wesleyan and Mount Marty. Nebraska Wesleyan held a 13 point lead over the Tigers with nine minutes remaining while the Lancers led by six points at the nine-minute mark.
Doane reached eight GPAC wins for the first time since 2006-07 and 18 wins matched the mark last reached in 1996-97.
