Ex-Huskers Griffin, Moore Meet up in WNBA

Three years ago, Kelsey Griffin and Lindsey Moore were leading Nebraska through its most successful season in women's basketball history. Now, each is a member of the WNBA. Moore is entering her rookie season after being drafted 12th overall by the Minnesota Lynx in April. Griffin, meanwhile, is in her fourth year with the Connecticut Sun.

""We talked about building a certain legacy when we were at Nebraska," Griffin said. "(Its great) to see the carry-over. Hopefully we'll get more players in the WNBA."

Moore recently graduated from Nebraska after setting multiple records for the Huskers. As a senior, Moore guided the Huskers to its second Sweet 16 appearance. The only other time Nebraska reached the NCAA Regionals was 2010 -- when Griffin was on the team.

The two were scheduled to play against each other Tuesday in an exhibition game in Minneapolis, but Moore was sidelined with an injury. The former Huskers met up prior to the game, exchanging a hug and a light-hearted conversation. Moore and Griffin hope to square off on June 1st when the Lynx and Sun square off on the WNBA's opening night.
