There will be two Fosters on the Nebraska football roster in 2014. Trey, who will be a sophomore that season, will be joined at Nebraska by brother D.J. The younger Foster committed to the Huskers over the weekend, saying his family's ties to the program played a big role in his decision.
"Having my brother there - that's a crazy thing to have," Foster said. Through his brother, DJ has gotten to know several players on the team. Plus, he has a history with the Lincoln Southeast graduates on the current roster.
Trey and D.J. played together in 2011 at Lincoln Southeast, helping the Knights to a state championship. D.J. started that year as a sophomore, playing a major role one of Class A's top rushing attacks.
D.J., who's 6'3" 310 pounds, is rated as the top in-state prospect for the 2014 recruiting class. He was pursued by nearly 100 schools and had scholarship offers from across the country. Foster says he strongly considered Florida, Georgia, and UCLA. He ultimately chose Nebraska because of the relationships he has within the program.
