Nebraska's Jordan Hooper and Lindsey Moore were both among 25 college players named to the 2012-13 preseason Wade Watch List, announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

Hooper and Moore become the first Husker teammates in history named to the Wade Watch list at the same time. They make Nebraska one of only five schools in the nation with two or more players on the 2012-13 Wade Watch List, joining Baylor, Connecticut, Duke, Penn State and Kansas. Baylor center Brittney Griner won the 2012 Wade Trophy.

Hooper, a 6-2 junior forward from Alliance, Neb., earned honorable-mention AP All-America accolades as a sophomore after ranking among the nation's top-25 players in both scoring and rebounding. Hooper led the Huskers with 18.9 points per game, while leading the Big Ten Conference with 9.3 rebounds per contest. She was also a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2012, after earning a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team in 2011.

Hooper, who was one of five players named to the WBCA All-Region 6 team in 2012, was added to the Wade Watch List last year at midseason. The two-time Nebraska High School Player of the Year (2008, 2010) was also a candidate for the 2012 Naismith Trophy after making the Naismith Midseason 32.

In 2011-12, Hooper became the first Husker in history to reach 1,000 career points as a sophomore, finishing her second season at Nebraska with 1,078 points. She enters her junior season ranked No. 22 on NU's career scoring list. Hooper, who led the Big Ten with 14 double-doubles on the season, became the first sophomore in Husker history to score 600 points and grab 300 rebounds in the same year.

Moore, a 5-9 senior point guard from Covington, Wash., earned her first appearance on the Wade Watch List this fall. Moore joined Hooper on last year's Naismith Midseason 32 and was one of eight finalists for the 2012 Nancy Lieberman Award, which is presented annually to the nation's top point guard. Moore, a 2012 second-team All-Big Ten choice, ranked No. 2 in the Big Ten in assists (5.1 apg), No. 5 in steals (2.2 spg) and No. 7 in scoring (15.7 ppg), while leading the Huskers to the 2012 Big Ten Tournament championship game in their inaugural season in the conference.

Moore captured Big 12 All-Freshman honors in 2010 after becoming the first freshman point guard in NCAA history to lead a team to an unbeaten regular season while starting every game. She helped the Huskers to their first NCAA Sweet Sixteen and the highest national rankings in school history (No. 3), while guiding NU to a No. 1 seed in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

Moore, who has started 98 consecutive games in the Husker lineup since joining Nebraska as a Parade All-American and the 2009 Washington High School Player of the Year, ranks No. 4 in Nebraska history with 504 assists. She also ranks No. 16 in school history with 1,160 points. She is the only player in Nebraska history to record a triple-double.

The preseason Wade Watch List is composed of top NCAA Division I women's basketball from 18 institutions and eight conferences. A committee of coaches, administrators and media from across the United States compiled the list using the following criteria: game and season statistics, leadership, character, effect on their team and overall playing ability.

The State Farm Wade Trophy, which is in its 36th year, is presented annually to the NCAA Division I Player of the Year by the WBCA and the National Association of Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS).

Former Nebraska All-American Karen Jennings won the Wade Trophy in 1993, while All-American Kelsey Griffin was a finalist for the award in 2010. The award is named for Lily Margaret Wade, who led Delta State to three national titles as a head coach.
