The University of Nebraska Kearney will be paying homage to all who have served, and continue to serve our country and community as the Lopers host Southwest Baptist this Saturday, October 20th. Kick-off for this game is set for 11:00 a.m.

UNK Athletics is teaming up with the Nebraska Army National Guard and Service Affiliations throughout Kearney who will have several vehicles on display outside of the stadium. Some of these vehicles include: Humvees, LTV's, police vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances and much more. These vehicles will be available for any fans to tour starting at 9:00 am, with the ROTC providing fans with keep sakes.

Fans will also want to make sure they are in their seats 20 minutes before kickoff as the UNK Pride of the Plains Marching Band performs a special tribute to those service men and women, both active and inactive, in all 5 military branches.

All veterans, active military and employees of service related fields (i.e. police, fire & rescue, health & wellness employee's non-profit employee's etc.) will receive FREE admission when they present a relevant military or employment I.D. on game day. Additional tickets may be purchased for regular price. Tickets are available on game day or are available for purchase by visiting www.pickmytickets.com.

“Our administration, coaches and student athletes appreciate the sacrifices our service men and women make to provide us with the quality of life we have grown accustomed to”, said Assistant Athletic Director, Shawn Fairbanks. “This is just a small way for us to publicly express our gratitude for their commitment.”

Loper Athletics would also like to remind families to take advantage of the Runza Family Game Day Pass which is good for four tickets, four hotdogs and four small drinks for only $20!
