Freshman Lauren Sieckmann has left the Nebraska volleyball program to transfer to Division II Wayne State.

Sieckmann graduated from Elkhorn South High School in January so she could enroll at Nebraska for the spring semester. She was a
three-time all-state selection and was projected to be one of the
top first-year players in the nation.

Sieckmann said Tuesday she wants to switch from setter to hitter
and that transferring to Wayne State will give her that opportunity.

Nebraska coach John Cook called Sieckmann a hard worker who has
a chance to make a major impact at Wayne State, in northeast Nebraska. He said he's sad it didn't work out for Sieckmann to play
for the Cornhuskers.
