The Nebraska Wesleyan University men’s golf team is ranked No. 1 in this week’s Golfstat NCAA Division III Head-to-Head Standings after the Prairie Wolves fall season has completed.
The Golfstat Head-to-Head rankings are an RPI-like ranking system that pits every team in Division III against one another by comparing average scores in competition. On-the-course results between teams are factored in as well.
The Prairie Wolves won the St. John’s Fall Invitational in September defeating a field of 15 other DIII schools. NWU then placed second in the Twin Cities Classic competing against a tough DIII field of 12 other schools. NWU is also second in the GPAC Championships after the first two rounds.
Nebraska Wesleyan has qualified for the NCAA III Championships 29 times, with nine straight appearances. They have placed in the top ten in six of the last ten NCAA III Championships, including winning the 2006 NCAA III National Championship.
This season the NCAA III Golf Championships will be held at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida.
