The Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves kick off the 2012 season Saturday with a home game at Abel Stadium against the Spires of Saint Mary. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

Nebraska Wesleyan enters the season coming off a 5-5 record last year. Six starters return on each side of the ball.

Saturday's game marks the first non-conference game for Nebraska Wesleyan since the 2002 season opener against Upper Iowa.

The Prairie Wolves were picked to finish 7th in the GPAC Preseason Poll.

NWU is 52-47-5 all-time in season openers and have an 8-8 record in season openers under head coach Brian Keller. Keller begins his 17th season as the head coach of the Prairie Wolves and has compiled a 88-73 record in 16 years at the school.
