With only one final practice remaining before a key divisional matchup this weekend, the Nebraska football team kept their sights set firmly on Michigan State during their Thursday afternoon pratice. The Huskers worked out for just over 90 minutes in helmets and shorts, splitting their time between the Hawks Championship Center and outdoors on the Ed and Joyanne Gass Practice Field.

Following practice, Head Coach Bo Pelini met with the media and discussed the relationship between fifth-year senior linebackers Will Compton, Sean Fisher and Alonzo Whaley.

"I think our linebackers play off each other," Pelini said. "They have a great relationship and they help each other. Fisher and Compton, there's some crossover there. That's kind of how we train them. I think it's been a good combination, There's a real good chemistry among those guys."

Pelini also discussed defensive lineman Cameron Meredith and whether he prefers to play the senior at the end spot or on the inside.

"A little bit of both," Pelini said. "I think you're going to see him in both places. He's a good football player and he's part of the combination inside and outside."

When asked if fans can expect to see Jamal Turner and Kenny Bell back to receive kicks again for the Huskers this weekend, Pelini said NU has several options available.

"Possibly," Pelini said. "Ameer's still available to return kicks and punts. We'll see how it plays out."

Nebraska will conduct a final walkthrough practice tomorrow before traveling to East Lansing to face Michigan State. The Big Ten conference showdown is set for a 2:30 p.m. CDT kickoff and will be broadcast regionally on ABC and ESPN2.
