Preview: Nebraska is coming off a midweek win over Iowa and hopes to build momentum in a pivotal Big 12 series against Baylor. The Huskers, who are 17-6 at home this season, won its last league series at Hawks Field two weeks ago when they defeated Kansas State. Baylor comes to town sitting seventh in the league standings, one spot ahead of Nebraska. The Bears were nationally ranked as high as 14th earlier in the season but have dropped five of their first six Big 12 series.

A pair of Husker infielders, Kurt Farmer and Cody Asche, have each hit over .300 through the first 14 conference games. Nebraska passed the midway point of the Big 12 season last weekend when it dropped two games at No. 11 Oklahoma, while the third was canceled due to rain. The Huskers scored just three runs in the two setbacks before producing seven runs on 13 hits in Tuesday's win over Iowa. Farmer is hitting a team-best .358 in Big 12 play, while Asche is batting .314 with a league-high 21 RBIs.

The Huskers have shook up their weekend rotation for the Baylor series, as freshman left hander Logan Ehlers will make his second career start Friday night. The Nebraska City, Neb., native will be pitching at Hawks Field for the first time as a Husker and enters the game with a 1-1 record and 3.65 ERA. Freshman right hander Jon Keller (2-4, 2.66) will remain the Saturday starter, while sophomore right hander Tyler Niederklein (6-1, 3.91), who was on a pitch count in Tuesday's start against Iowa, will get the nod for Sunday's finale. Niederklein was scheduled to start last Sunday's game at Oklahoma, which was rained out.

With Tuesday's win over Iowa, Nebraska improved to 21-0 when leading after six innings. The Husker bullpen has been one of the most stable parts of the 2011 team, anchored by senior Casey Hauptman (6-2, 1.42). The right hander ranks fourth in the Big 12 with his 1.42 ERA and leads the Huskers in appearances (20), innings (50.2) and strikeouts (47). Hauptman is one of the most accurate pitches in the country, ranking first in the NCAA in walks allowed per nine innings (0.19). His lone walk of the year was an intentional pass against UCLA.
