Nebraska coach Bo Pelini isn't backing away from publicly challenging his team to win its six remaining regular-season games.
Pelini caught Nebraska fans by surprise after the 25-point loss at Ohio State when he said the Cornhuskers must win out if they want to play for the Big Ten title. The Huskers haven't won six straight in the same season since 2001.
Pelini said Monday that he was just stating a fact: that winning out is the only way his team can control its destiny.
Tight end Ben Cotton said players appreciate Pelini's honesty and accept the challenge.
Nebraska (4-2, 1-1) visits Northwestern (6-1, 2-1) on Saturday.
