Alfonzo Dennard is back from Patriots rookie mini camp to appear in court.
Tuesday, his attorney asked to waive a preliminary hearing set for May 30th.
The former Husker cornerback is charged with third degree felony assault of a police officer.
If convicted, he could face up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Lincoln Police arrested Dennard in April after they say he pushed then punched an officer in the face outside of a Lincoln bar.
