It's been anything but smiles for the Nebraska men's basketball team in Big Ten Conference play. Despite an 0-4 start, the Big Red are confident they're moving in the right direction.

"I've seen some improvement. I've seen some progress. We're getting better but it feels hallow since we haven't come out on top," head coach Tim Miles said.

The Huskers are down to just six scholarship players, Nebraska has shown resolve through their effort and hustle, traits that has fans excited about a team that's yet to secure its first Big Ten victory.

"At the end of the day, we still haven't won a Big Ten game. We're hungry. We're just as hungry as we were going to Michigan State. You have to have that same mindset to fight to the end," senior guard Dylan Talley commented.

Of Nebraska's four Big Ten losses, three were to ranked opponents. Up next for the Huskers, Purdue and Penn State, two teams that are both outside the Top 25.

"We've gotta win eventually to be confident. We just gotta win. Any of the next games in front of us are important."

"We believe we can do it before. Now we know. Next time we're in a close situation, we've gotta expect the victory."

"We're just trying to get them to move forward and play as hard as they can every night out every possession."

If the recent desire and work ethic the Huskers are showing is any indication toward success, the wins and smiles should start piling up.
