The Nebraska football team practiced for two hours in half pads at the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice facility Monday afternoon, as the Huskers began preparations for Saturday's game against Idaho State.

Offensive Coordinator Tim Beck addressed the media after practice. Beck said the Huskers were focused on continuing their improvement while continuing their offensive momentum after averaging more than 40 points per contest through the first three games.

“We just have to worry about ourselves right now and make sure that we know that anyone is capable of beating anyone.” Beck said. “You only have 11 games scheduled so you better enjoy all 11, and go out and play hard.”

It was announced earlier Monday during the Huskers’ weekly press conference that senior I-back Rex Burkhead was expected to return to field for Saturday’s game. Burkhead did practice with the Huskers Monday afternoon, and Beck said Burkhead was, “excited to be back with the team.”

Beck said Nebraska’s young backs, including sophomores Ameer Abdullah and Braylon Heard and freshman Imani Cross, would continue to earn carries.

“They are all deserving.” Beck said. “Just because Rex is back doesn’t mean we are going to push those guys away Saturday. They are a big part of our offense and they always have been, and they will continue to be a part of our offense.”

Kickoff between the Huskers and Bengals at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln is set for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (central) with live national television coverage from the Big Ten Network.
