Nebraska's 30-13 loss to South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl on Monday cost it a third straight 10-win season. It also started an offseason of hand-wringing for Big Red fans hopeful coach Bo Pelini can return the program to prominence.
Pelini won 28 of his first 37 games as head coach but is 10-7
since losing at Texas A&M late in 2010.
A 31-point loss at Wisconsin showed the Cornhuskers wouldn't
dominate their first season in the Big Ten. They were 5-3 in league
play.
Quarterback Taylor Martinez and running back Rex Burkhead are
among eight offensive starters who will be back. The defense will
have experience at three of the four spots on the line but need to
beef up at linebacker.
