LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nebraska coach Bo Pelini has announced the
hiring of Terry Joseph as the team's new secondary coach.
Joseph was defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator
under Derek Dooley at Tennessee the past two years. The 38-year-old Joseph was a graduate assistant at LSU in 2006 when Pelini was the Tigers' defensive coordinator.
Joseph replaces Corey Raymond, who left last week to take the
same job at LSU. Joseph will coach a secondary that returns nine
players who started at least one game in 2011.
Tennessee was 12th nationally in passing yards allowed last
season despite having an inexperienced secondary. In 2010 the
Volunteers intercepted 18 passes, one of the top marks in the
nation.
Joseph is the cousin of Mickey Joseph, a Nebraska quarterback
from 1988 to 1991.
