Lincoln, Neb.- Nebraska senior Ashley Miller and sophomore Chad Wright were honored by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday after being selected as the Big Ten Female Co-Track and Male Field Athletes-of-the-Week. The accolade marks the first Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field weekly award for Miller and the second for Wright.
Miller was named the Big Ten Female Co-Track Athlete of the Week after recording a personal-best time of 2:03.33 in the 800 meters at the Sun Angel Classic. Her effort ranks first in the conference and third in the country this year.
Wright was named the Big Ten Male Field Athlete of the Week after placing first in the discus at the Sun Angel Classic with a throw of 198-05, which ranks first in the conference and second in the nation. Wright also recorded a top-10 finish in the shot put (54-9 1/2).
