LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Maggie Lucas scored 24 points to lead five
Nittany Lions in double figures as Penn State overwhelmed No. 15
Nebraska in the second half to take a 93-73 win Sunday.
Penn State (13-4, 3-2 Big Ten) trailed by six at half, but came
out strong, holding Nebraska (15-2, 4-1) to just two field goals in
the first eight minutes after break.
The Nittany Lions outscored the Huskers 26-9 in that stretch,
taking their first lead of the game at 48-46 on Zhaque Gray's
jumper with 18:08 left and going up 64-53 on Maggie Lucas's pull-up
3-pointer with 15:19 left.
Nebraska cut the lead to eight on a pair of Jordan Hooper free
throws with 10:30 left. But the Huskers could get no closer Penn
State's largest lead was 22.
Nebraska led by as many as 11 early in the game and closed the
first half on a 6-0 run to lead 44-38 at the break. The loss
snapped a nine-game Huskers win streak.
Joining Lucas in double figures were Alex Bentley with 23
points, Gray with 19 and Nia Nickson and Nikki Greene with 12
Emily Cady had 17 points to lead Nebraska. Jordan Hooper
finished with 13 points.
