Ames, Iowa- The Nebraska volleyball team completed the 2012 spring season with an undefeated record after taking down the Iowa State Cyclones 3-1 (25-16, 22-25, 27-25, 25-16) at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa on Saturday.
Nebraska was led by Hannah Werth as she totaled a double-double on the afternoon with 17 kills and 11 digs, along with a .371 hitting percentage. Gina Mancuso followed close behind with 15 kills and a hitting percentage of .429. Lauren Cook tabbed a double-double of her own with 41 assists and 11 digs, as she helped the Huskers to a .276 hitting percentage for the match. Morgan Broekhuis made her presence known with 10 kills and five block assists, while Hayley Thramer recorded four blocks.
Nebraska out-blocked Iowa State 15.5-4, while holding the Cyclones to a .106 hitting percentage.
The Huskers’ spring schedule included a 4-0 win over Hawaii on March 23, a 3-0 win over North Dakota State on April 7 and a 3-1 win against Wichita State on April 14.
