Big Ten Media Days are underway in Chicago and 10/11's Kevin Sjuts caught up with one member of the Blackshirts who hopes to make his last year in Lincoln a memorable one.
When asked about the summer, Compton said, "Without a doubt. We had a good summer. Very confident going into fall camp. We had a good spring. Good transistion and I just know we're excited to get going."
The Huskers finished last season with a 9-4 record and the team is ready for the 2012 season. When asked about the attitude of this year's team, "Mentality is win or bust. Mentality is very different. We learned a lot in the offseason. Both coaches and players. We have great leadership and we're ready to get going."
This season is Compton's final year in Lincoln. When asked about his final year as a Husker he said, "Yeah I try to soak it in as much as I can because it could be the last time I strap it up forever. I take that into consideration. I'm always telling the coaches hey this is the last go around. It's emotional but very exciting. We're ready to get going and lead this team."
