Head Coach Bo Pelini addressed the media for the final time on Sunday morning before the Huskers' game against South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl on Monday, Jan. 2. The Huskers, who are looking for their third 10-win season in a row, will kick off against the Gamecocks at Noon (CT) on ESPN. Pelini lauded the Capital One Bowl and the city of Orlando for the hospitality that has been shown over the past week.
"It's been a great week down here," Pelini said. "I've been to a lot of bowl games and this has been first-class. It's been a great experience for everybody associated with our program. I can't say enough about the hospitality and how we've been treated during our time here in Orlando. Now we're looking forward to the football game tomorrow afternoon against a team we have a lot of respect for."
South Carolina Head Coach Steve Spurrier also met the media on Sunday morning. Spurrier said the Huskers will provide a great challenge for the Gamecocks, who won 10 games this season.
"They're a very good, solid team," Spurrier said of the NU. "Always a very difficult opponent to try and beat. They don't beat themselves, play fundament very well, and that's what we need to do in order to be in the ballgame with them."
