Lincoln, Neb. - Nebraska senior Luke Pinkelman was honored by the Big Ten Conference on Monday after being selected as the Big Ten Field Athlete-of-the-Week. The accolade marks his third Big Ten indoor track and field weekly award.
Pinkelman earned the honor after placing first in the shot put with an NCAA-qualifying mark of 64-0 1/2 (19.52) at the Tyson Invitational last weekend to remain undefeated on the season. His shot put distance ranks first in the Big Ten and sixth in the nation.
The Huskers return home this weekend to host the Nebraska Tune-up on Friday, Feb. 17. The action is slated to begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Devaney Center Indoor Track.
