Warning: Beware of Fake Football Tickets

"In this last situation, the tickets did look very much alike." - Charlotte Evans, assistant UNL Chief of Police

Warning Nebraska football fans: make sure those tickets you buy are the real deal.

With the Michigan game about to arrive, school officials are warning that counterfeiters are looking to make a quick buck, making fake tickets and would love to scam you.

It happened at the Wisconsin game last month. Officials say 18 counterfeit tickets were seized.

"In this last situation the tickets did look very much alike," said Charlotte Evans, assistant UNL Chief of Police.

She also advised buyers to purchase from people you know and trust.

The counterfeit tickets involving the Wisconsin game were sold on Craigslist. The website does post warnings about scammers.

Still, UNL officials advise: buyer beware.
