2012 Nutcracker Ballet Auditions in Lincoln

Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company and Artistic Director Shari True have announced the auditions for the 2012 Nutcracker ballet.

The Nutcracker production is celebrating its 28th year and has become a cherished Lincoln holiday tradition. Performances will be held at the Lied Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 16, 2012, at
2 p.m.

Auditions will be held Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Temple Building on the University of Nebraska - Lincoln (12th & R Streets).

All auditioners, except gymnasts and party boys, must be at least 8 years old. Gymnasts and party boys must be at least 6 years old.

New this year is online registration, just click on the link in the side bar.

The audition schedule, general information and tips are also available on the website. Online Audition Registration A one-time audition fee of $20 is payable when registering online. Online registration will end Thursday, September 6, at 5 p.m. After that date, the audition fee is $30 and can be paid at auditions on September 8. Those cast in the Nutcracker will be required to pay at $40 participation fee.

Online registration is also available for adults wanting to be in the party scene. To be considered for a role as an adult in the party scene, complete online registration by 5 p.m. September 6, 2012. Adults do not need to attend auditions or pay the audition fee.
