Raising funds and enjoying a good laugh -- Participants say there's no better way to spend a Saturday night. Grand Island's Little Theatre will be providing some variety for those in attendance, Saturday at 7 p-m.
Laugh In Director Ron Jelinek says, "We've got singers, dancers, we've got comedy sketches and just a little bit of everything. And we'll kind of scatter those things throughout the night."
By purchasing a ticket, you'll be helping the Grand Island Little Theatre continue to entertain in the future.
"We have operating expenses and utilities and all that stuff that we need on a yearly basis," say Jelinek, "Sometimes our shows don't always cover it."
One of the emcees, Bea "Funny" Fiala, will be back for her second year performing in laugh in and she always aims to entertain.
Fiala says, "I have a lot of my own material. My life's quite humorous, so I take a lot of my comedy just from everyday things."
This year, Bea will be interacting with each act in the show in an effort to uncover a comedic secret.
"They're going to try to help me find my hidden talent, so that's going to be quite a challenge," says Fiala. "I'm going to try to sing, try to twirl a baton. I don't know what else I'm going to try, but I'm going to try quite a few things. I can't give it all away."
With plenty of talent to fill the show, Jelinek believes that the unique theater experience is very important to the community.
Jelinek says, "Live theater is always spontaneous, always something different. You'll never see the same performance twice. It's just a good community to be a part of to make connections in Grand Island."
