Local Celebrities to Compete in Dancing with the Stars of Lincoln

The Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company has announced the 2012 contestants for Dancing With the Stars of Lincoln.
Now in its fourth year, the Dancing with the Stars fundraiser has provided additional support for the LMBC's annual production of the Nutcracker ballet and summer dance camp.
"Dancing With the Stars has built momentum the past four years and is now one of the most enjoyable and popular fundraising events in Lincoln. The crowd loves to watch their favorite dancers and has a lot of fun voting for the 'People's Choice' award, said Nancy Ingham, LMBC board member and co- chair of the Dancing With the Stars Committee.
"We are able to finance new costumes and sets for Nutcracker productions and help make our summer dance camp happen each year with the funds raised from this event," added Jody McCleese,LMBC board member and co-chair of Dancing With the Stars.
Dancing With the Stars of Lincoln will be held at the Cornhusker Hotel, 333 South 13th Street on Friday, August 17, 2012. Cocktails are at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the dance competition at 8 p.m.
Eleven dance teams are participating in the competition. Teams are made up of local celebrities and a local dance studio or fitness-oriented business. Master of Ceremonies is Aaron Davis, Aaron Davis Presents. Judges are Richard Bailey, Bailey Lauerman; Jan Bretz, JB Communications; and William Stephan, Lied Center for Performing Arts.
