Join the Nebraska Wesleyan University Faculty Brass Trio for an exciting evening of brass music Tuesday, March 5, 2013, 7:30 p.m. at O'Donnell Auditorium.
Guest Deborah Bouffard, trumpet,will join members Dean Haist, trumpet; Ric Ricker, horn; and Nancy Vogt, trombone; to perform a variety of compositions including Walter S. Hartley's "Two Pastiches," "Quartet for Brass" by Steve Scott, Stephen Lias' "Burlesque," and "Zephyr Dances" by Stanley Friedman.
Haist, Ricker and Vogt, all faculty members in the Nebraska Wesleyan University music department, have performed together as a trio since 2005. The group performs several times each semester on the Nebraska Wesleyan campus and also presents educational outreach concerts at area high schools.
Dean Haist is a freelance trumpet soloist and artist. He performs with many groups in Nebraska, including the Nebraska Brass, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, Lincoln Municipal Band, Nebraska Trumpet Ensemble and Monday Night Big Band.
Ric Ricker received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Tennessee and Master of Music from Southern Methodist University. Before moving to Lincoln he was a career orchestral performer for over 20 years. Ric is currently the Sheet Music Manager for the Dietze Music chain and horn instructor at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He is a member of the Nebraska Brass and Lincoln Municipal Band and performs often with the Lincoln and Omaha Symphonies.
Nancy Vogt is a freelance musician who has performed with many musical organizations in the Midwest, including the Lincoln Municipal Band, Plymouth Brass, Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, Des Moines Symphony Orchestra and Detroit Concert Band. She also performed for several years with the United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C.
Deborah Bouffard is currently a member of the Lincoln Public Schools instrumental music faculty where she teaches beginning band at Pershing, Hartley, Saratoga and Eastridge Elementary Schools. Deborah performs with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, the Lincoln Municipal Band, the Plymouth Brass, and the Nebraska Trumpet Ensemble.
