The Mayhew Cabin will co-sponsor two programs for Black History Month.
The Mayhew Cabin will co-sponsor a Black History month program with Black Student Union and Phi Alpha Theta of Peru State College on Thursday, February 14th, at 11 a.m.
Mr. James Beatty, chairman of the Great Plains Black History Museum, will present a history and overview of the Omaha museum.
The program will take place on the campus of Peru State College inside the CATS building.
The Mayhew Cabin and G.A.R. Hall will co-host the program "Life & Times of Frederick Douglass" on Saturday, February 16th, at 2 p.m. for Black History month. John Harris presents a one-man show about the life of one of America's greatest orators and abolitionists, Frederick Douglass.
Come see Mr. Harris perform a first person impression of Frederick Douglass and learn about this important figure from the Civil War era.
The program will take place at the G.A.R. Hall located at 910 1st Corso in Nebraska City.
