September 5, 2012 - Seattle author and Argentine tango teacher Gabriela Condrea and Valencia-based Argentine tango band Diablito Tango will be in Lincoln, NE on Friday September 21, at The DelRay Ballroom.
Condrea will be presenting her book and offering a tango dance lesson.
Diablito Tango will be performing tangos, milongas and waltzes.
The book presentation is at 7pm, the tango lesson at 8pm, and the band is from 9pm to midnight.
Gabriela Condrea, author of "When 1+1=1: That 'Impossible' Connection", focuses her writing and teaching around the idea of connection.
She toured 8 European nations in 2011 promoting "When 1+1=1" and is currently touring over 60 cities in the US and parts of Canada.
Her lessons are all-levels and look at Tango Connection and the "Fundamentals of Four-Leggedness".
Diablito Tango was formed in January of 2010 and includes Javier Cárdenas playing bandoneón, Matt Baker on double bass, and Nesrine Belmokh with vocals.
Cárdenas is accomplished in violin and viola performance, and is currently studying bandoneón in Paris, France.
Baker is the professor of jazz double bass at the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia.
Belmokh formed the ensemble 'MAY' in 2004 and also performs cello as a permanent member of the Orquestra de la Communitat Valenciana.
The book presentation is free to the public.
The tango lesson with Gabriela Condrea is $25 and includes dance admission. The dance with Diablito Tango performing is $10 on its own.
The DelRay Ballroom, located at 817 R Street, in Lincoln, NE, has offered dance lessons and event space to the Lincoln area since September, 2001.
