What's Happening on This Week's Buzz – Aug. 10

On this week’s episode of Star City Buzz, we take a trip to Raymond, Nebraska to see the sites of James Arthur Vineyards at 2001 West Raymond Road. The vineyard started in 1992 when James Arthur Jeffers bought a few hundred acres of land. His son-in-law Jim Ballard who is now JAV’s Winemaker suggested growing a few grapevines. Summer weather means more community markets throughout the city. This week we head to University Place Community Market at 48th and St. Paul in Lincoln, Neb. The market is each Wednesday from 3PM to 7PM through September 19th. The market features local vendors with fresh produce, crafts, local merchandise, and unique food. Watch the video to see what unique products are available at the market.

It’s Keep It Cool month on Star City Buzz and we’re highlighting local stores that make homemade ice cold treats for you to enjoy on a hot afternoon. Our first stop is Pop Art a popsicle business run out of co-owner Jill Thayer’s home and brought to the streets of the Haymarket Farmer’s Market. Jill makes delicious flavors and sticks to natural ingredients to keep the popsicles on the healthy side. Watch the video to see the beautiful and delicious creations of Pop Art.

It's the fourth installment of the Bourne Series, The Bourne Legacy might not of Matt Damon, but the story still alludes to his character Jason Bourne in some aspects. This installment features lead actor Jeremy Renner as another agent Aaron Cross who ends up being chased by the government program responsible for creating him. Lance Schwartz becomes a Star City Buzz reporter for a day to give you a second Behind the Mic look at the roots of half of the duo that makes up Karmin. Lance speaks with Amy Heidemann of Seward’s parents and her brother about the pop stars rise to fame and what she was like in her younger years. Watch the video to find out how Our Town Seward shaped the young star as she grew up in Nebraska.

Finally, summer is almost over and what better way to ring in the school year than by singing along with The String Beans. The String Beans is a children’s band that was founded in 2004 by brothers Curt and Randy Bright. The band has released 5 CD’s with songs that teach children about rhyming, opposites, animals, and much more. The String Beans play around the Midwest.
