On this week’s episode of Star City Buzz, we pop in to see what Just Pop’d has to offer. Just Pop’d is a pop corn specialty store with a variety of unique and original pop corn flavors. It’s located at 6891 A Street in the Clock Tower Shopping Center in Lincoln. The store is open from 10AM to 8PM Monday through Friday, 10AM to 6:30PM Saturday, and 12PM to 5PM on Sunday. The Best Dressed Doll in the World: Nebraska’s Own Terri Lee is the newest exhibit at the Nebraska State Historical Society. It’s an exhibit featuring a collection of dolls that were created right here in Nebraska. It’s sure to appeal to doll-lovers of any age. It will be open daily through September at the Nebraska State Historical Society located at 15th & R Streets. The hours are Monday through Friday from 9AM to 4:30PM and Saturday and Sunday from 1PM to 4:30PM. Admission is free. Watch the video to learn more about this Nebraska creation.
It’s Comfort Food Month on Star City Buzz and for our fourth stop, we take a trip to Lee’s Chicken located at 1940 West Van Dorn Street in Lincoln. This café has been a Lincoln staple for years selling quality fried chicken, as well as many other comfort foods. Lee's is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11AM to 9:30PM, Friday and Saturday from 11AM to 10:30PM, and Sunday from 11:30AM to 9PM. Lee’s is closed on Mondays. Comedian Moshe Kasher is coming to the Capital City on Saturday, January 26. He will headline a fundraiser for Cornhusker Place which treats substance abuse and addiction in Lincoln. Finally, UNL’s Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film is hosting the Region V Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) from January 20 to the 26, in Lincoln. This is the university’s first time hosting the festival in about 10 years. Students from colleges and universities around the region come for the various workshops, performances and auditions that take place during the week-long festival.
