On this week’s episode of Star City Buzz, we take you on part two of our tour of the University of Nebraska State Museum at Morrill Hall. The museum is located near 14th & Vine Streets here in Lincoln. It features artifacts and fossils found in the state of Nebraska from millions of years ago. The museum is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:30AM to 4:30PM, except on Thursday when it is open until 8PM. It is also open Sundays from 1:30PM to 4:30PM. Places like the Marry Ross Media Arts Center, art galleries, and the local music scene keep the arts and entertainment community in Lincoln thriving. It’s Comfort Food Month on Star City Buzz and for our second stop, we take a trip to Stauffer’s Café and Pie Shoppe located at 5600 South 48th Street here in Lincoln. Claridy Stauffer and her son Thad opened the business in 1996. They specialize in making many delicious homemade food just like your Grandma makes. The store is open Monday through Friday from 6AM to 8PM, Saturdays from 6AM to 2PM and is CLOSED on Sundays. Watch the video to see the yummy dishes Stauffer’s has to offer.
The Schmoes review Promised Land, the movie centered around the controversial topic of fracking. The movie stars John Krasinski and Matt Damon. Finally, if you’re a fan of the local music scene or want to get involved in the scene yourself, we have just the place for you! Crescent Moon Coffee’s Open Mic Night is every Thursday at 7PM. Crescent Moon Coffee is located in the Haymarket at 140 North 8th Street, #10 in the Lower Level. They’re open from 8AM to 11PM Monday through Friday, 7AM to 11PM Saturday, and 9AM to 1PM on Sunday. Open Mic Night is each Thursday and allows up to 14 musicians to perform a 10 to 15 minute set for the crowd. Watch the video to learn more about this weekly event.
