What's Happening on This Week's Buzz – Sept. 19
On this week’s episode of Star City Buzz, we tour First Plymouth Church located at 20th & D Streets in Lincoln. The church seats 650 people and hosts a variety of events including church services. Abendmusik: Lincoln was created in 1972 by founder and artistic director John Levick. Abendmusik’s home is First Plymouth Church. The group has brought world-renowned composers to Lincoln over the years. This Sunday, September 23rd at 4PM Abendmusik will celebrate 40 years of Abendmusik favorites. It’s Awesome Ethnic Food Month on Star City Buzz and for our third stop, we step inside The Parthenon Greek Grill and Taverna. Parthenon is located at 5500 South 56th Street in Lincoln and is open 7 days a week from 11AM to 7PM. This authentic Greek restaurant is locally owned and brings a touch of Greece right to Lincoln. If you like Glee, you’ll love Pitch Perfect. The movie stars Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, and other comedy actors and actresses. It’s year 12 for the Lincoln Arts Festival and this year is sure to be another great experience. The festival will take place Saturday, September 22nd from 10AM to 6PM and Sunday, September 23rd from 10AM to 5PM at SouthPointe Pavilions here in Lincoln. The festival will feature work from over 100 artists across the country. You can buy art, listen to live music, eat good food, and have fun with the family with children’s activities. Finally, tailgating is a big part of Husker game day tradition and the SideTrack Band is all about tradition. They have been together for 35 years making Husker fans happy on game day. They sing songs about players, coaches, and take requests from the crowd. You can catch them at Single Barrel every Friday before a Husker home game and each home game day before and after the game.
