What's Happening on This Week's Buzz - July 8
On this week’s episode of Star City Buzz , we take it to the streets with a look at the music of the Haymarket Farmer's Market. Local artists join the many vendors each Saturday morning to entertain you while you shop. The farmer's market is every Saturday from 8AM to Noon, through October 13th at 7th & P Streets in Lincoln's Haymarket. We take you to the Pinewood Bowl Theater located in Pioneer's Park for a preview of the play "7 Brides for 7 Brothers." The play is a story about Adam and Millie who meet in town and decide to get married. When they go back to Adam's cabin, Millie finds out he has 6 brothers living with them that she has to take under her wing. You can get tickets at Lincoln Russ' Markets. The play runs July 12-15 and 19-22 starting at 8PM each night. Watch the video to hear from actors and the director of the play.
July is Lip Smackin' BBQ month. Our second stop takes us to Zo's Family Flava located at 27th & R Streets in the lot of Lincoln's City Impact. Zo lost his job three years ago and decided to follow his passion of cooking. With the help of his wife, Zo's Family Flava was born. Check 'em out and see what their best seller is! Zo's Family Flava is open Thursdays and Fridays.
We asked our Facebook fans what movie they wanted us to review this week and the ladies asked for "Magic Mike." The movie is loosely based on lead actor Channing Tatum's life as a male stripper. Watch to see what Schmoes Know thinks about "Magic Mike."
We go Behind the Mic with Kelly Garrett of Proud Country KX 96.9. The country loving DJ takes the air waves from 10AM to 3PM Monday through Friday. Watch the video to hear what Kelly has to say about her professional and personal life.
Finally, it's a street market with a lot of heart. Art & Soul's ArtBeat Street Market located at 56th & Pine Lake Road features local vendors, local food, and local music. The market is every Thursday through August 16th. The street market raises fun and awareness for Donate Life. Watch the video to see why this market brings a smile to the faces of many.
