Vanessa Flowers joined the 10/11 News team in November 2010 as the news anchor for “Nebraska Central News at 9pm.”

Vanessa brings to KOLN/KGIN more than 11 years of news experience. A southern girl at heart… Vanessa grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where she graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Vanessa also had the privilege of working as a General Assignment/Health Reporter in her home town. While in Birmingham.... she was nominated for an Emmy for breaking news and was given the opportunity to field produce for MSNBC.

Her resume also includes stops in Wichita, Kansas where she covered the BTK serial killer trial and Evansville, Indiana…. where like Nebraska… cold, snowy weather is always a top story!

In her spare time… you can often find Vanessa at the gym. She says she’s quite obsessive about living a healthy lifestyle. Vanessa also enjoys traveling and volunteering for numerous community based and philanthropic organizations.
