Kim Eiten joined the 10/11 News team as a video journalist in January 2012. She was promoted to Weekend Anchor alongside Owen Jensen In November 2012.
Kim has called Lincoln home since 2008. Before coming to Nebraska, Kim got her start in journalism covering high school events for the newspaper in her hometown of Peru, Ill. Kim later tried her hand at broadcasting and developed a passion for live reporting and breaking news coverage during her college internships. She began her career as an intern at KETV NewsWatch 7 in Omaha and later transferred to KETV's sister station in Orlando, WESH 2 News. During her time at WESH, Kim worked on the Casey Anthony trial where she watched almost every development in the case happen from right outside the Orange County Courthouse.
When she wasn't busy exploring the sunshine state, Kim worked toward her broadcasting degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While at UNL, she reported and anchored for the college's news program, Star City News as well as delivered live reports for the campus radio station, KRNU.
Kim wasn't much of a college football fan before becoming a Cornhusker, but she now proudly sports red on every Husker game day. You might also spot her around town wearing blue and orange in support of her other favorite team: Da Bears!
If she's not chasing breaking news, you can find Kim training for her next half-marathon or cruising grocery store aisles to find ingredients for her next culinary concoction.
Kim is looking forward to meeting new people and helping tell their stories. If you have something to share, or just want to say "Hi!" you can reach her at kimberly.eiten@1011now.com or tweet her @KimEiten.
